Girls Football Squad
Dear Parents / Carers,
We are so proud of the girls’ achievements in winning their first football game of the year. It was a great team performance and I was very impressed by both the attitude and ability of the girls. Apologies to those parents & carers who got to John Wood school and weren’t allowed in to watch. I wasn’t aware that you needed to be there before kick-off to be allowed in.
Our next game is next Wednesday afternoon (4th Oct), this time here at St Thomas Becket against Heavers Farm. Please do come along and watch if you can. The game will kick off at 3.45pm and finish at about 4.25. As many of the girls also have PE on Wednesday afternoon, we will move training next week to Monday (2nd Oct) lunchtime instead of Wednesday.
There are currently 12 girls in the football squad but we are only allowed 10 in the match-day squad for league games (today was a cup match and there was more flexibility). For that reason, two of the year 5 girls will not be able to play each week, but I would like them all to attend each game in kit, and those girls will act as reporters / assistant managers for that game. I will let those selected as reporters / assistant managers know the day before each game, so you know if they are playing in the match on any given game.
Finally, I would be grateful if you could wash and return the playing kit provided by next Monday.
