Applying for Secondary School

Children born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 will transfer to secondary school in September 2027. Applications for a secondary school place must be submitted by 31 October 2026.

If you miss this deadline, please contact the Croydon School Admissions Team as soon as possible for advice. National Offer Day for on-time applicants is 1 March 2027.

Making an Application
If you live in the London Borough of Croydon, you should apply online through the London eAdmissions website: www.eadmissions.org.uk

Applications for September 2027 entry open on 1 September 2026 and close on 31 October 2026.

You cannot apply directly to state secondary schools. All applications are coordinated through your home local authority. If you live outside Croydon, you must apply through your own local council, even if you wish to apply for a Croydon school.

Parents and carers are encouraged to research schools carefully and, where possible, attend open evenings before submitting their application. Croydon residents can name up to six preferences on their application form.

Further information about applying for a secondary school place can be found on the Croydon Council School Admissions website: https://www.croydon.gov.uk/admissions

Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), the admissions process is managed separately through Croydon's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service. Parents and carers should contact the SEND team for advice rather than completing the standard secondary transfer application. [croydon.gov.uk]

More information about services and support for children and young people with SEND is available through the Croydon Local Offer: https://localoffer.croydon.gov.uk/
