Observation and recordings are key scientific skills and to promote this we set up a School Science Photo/Video competition. Children were shown videos using different camera effects which can help scientific observation. Over the summer we had 14 amazing entries with a wide variety of topics and camera effects. We celebrated the entries in a whole school assembly.

Mr Bonnar (science leader)

Aiden used his camera close up to demonstrate how the buoyancy of an object changes in water when salt is added.

Niamh gave a very entertaining demonstration of the refraction of light through water

Sienna used a time lapse to record her stick insect, 'Mr Prickles', while it was moulting its skin.
