Coach Chris’s Martial Arts, Self-Defence & Fitness classes #Jiu-Jitsu:
My Kids Jiu-Jitsu programme is friendly and educational. It gives children the chance to make new friends, learn new skills and see the importance of working with others whilst respecting fellow pupils’ and adults’ needs and abilities.
Each lesson starts with a warm up consisting of a mix of stretching (to improve flexibility) and some cardio exercises. Depending on pupils’ ages and abilities. I’ll then cover basic Jiu-Jitsu moves and eventually look at how certain combinations are put together.
These lessons are specifically designed for children in order to develop their confidence, self-esteem, balance, concentration, co-operation, coordination and, of course, fitness.
Sessions are a great addition to any child’s education and I hope that what they learn with me will positively impact other areas of their lives. I consciously model my training around the 7 Principles of Martial Arts being discipline, respect, courtesy, self-control, integrity, perseverance and indomitable spirit which are all transferable skills.
Sessions are after school on Mondays at 3.30pm for 45 minutes in the school hall. Parents/Carers will have the opportunity to see their child’s new skill in a demonstration during the last session.
Sessions are £5 per child, per class commencing from Monday 1st November for 5 sessions.
Children can wear their PE kits (no zips) or suitable training wear (speak to Coach Chris to learn more!).
Children are encouraged to bring a bottle of water, a towel and an open-mind to trying new things!
