Cliff McNish Visit and Booksale
Dear Parents and Carers,
A date for your diary!
On 1st March we are planning an exciting event for our students. Cliff McNish, author of the international bestselling Doomspell series and Breathe, amongst other titles, has agreed to visit the school to talk to students about his books.
Cliff’s multiple award-winning novels have been translated into 26 languages and we are delighted to have secured a visit by him. Cliff will be inspiring students, performing writing workshops and enthusing them about the joy of reading. This will support the literacy work that we do in school and we hope it will prove a stimulating experience.
Afterwards there will be an opportunity for students to buy a book and get it dedicated. A signed book can be a permanent reminder of a special experience and can reinforce the message about the importance of reading. If your child would like to purchase a book, we have a fabulous 30% discount, making the cost £5.00 for each book. Please pre-order using your child’s ParentPay account by Tuesday 21st February 2023. Of course, if your child already owns any of Cliff’s books they are welcome to bring those in; he’ll be delighted to sign them.

The Winter Wolf – an A4 picture book fairy tale in the Oscar Wilde style about a wolf and a little squirrel. A story about love and trust suitable for children Year 1 and upwards.

For children 9-12 who like their science fiction and fantasy, but are ready for something more challenging than magic. (There are 2 further novels in the series, Silver City and Silver World.)
Angel – a contemporary fantasy about a girl who is half human and half angel, aimed at students aged 10+
